Founded in 1964, Dürr Brasil earned an excellent reputation by constructing a complete painting line for the expansion of the Volkswagen plant in São Bernardo do Campo. By 1970, Dürr had established itself as the market leader in Brazil. A Brazilian magazine reported at the time that: “Almost 80% of all new vehicles produced in Brazil are painted using equipment from the Otto Dürr KG subsidiary in São Paulo." That same year, a major fire destroyed wing 13 of the VW plant, including the newly installed paint line. Dürr demonstrated resilience by playing a crucial role in the plant’s reconstruction. By the late 1990s, Dürr was present at most car manufacturers building plants in Brazil.
In 2006, Dürr Brasil appointed Roberto Tkatchuk as its president. His leadership was immediately tested by a fire in part of the Dürr building. The company's employees came together to overcome this crisis, and with excellent administration and management, the building was refurbished, strengthening professional relationships among employees.
In 2011, as the Brazilian market rebounded, the company implemented a strategic growth plan, expanding its workforce and capabilities. In 2016, Dürr Brasil signed a strategic partnership with a Brazilian commercial vehicle manufacturer, further expanding its global portfolio. Over the past decade, the company has continued to support its customers, notable during the challenges if the COVID-19 pandemic, by establishing international factories and integrating advanced handling and assembly technologies.
To commemorate its 60th anniversary, Dürr Brasil produced a video using Artificial Intelligence, showcasing iconic vehicles that shaped the national market. The video illustrates Dürr’s key role in production processes, highlighting its continuous commitment to innovation.
The video also emphasizes Dürr Brasil's commitment to cutting-edge technology, optimizing operations, and offering advanced solutions in safety, ergonomics, data analysis, and sustainable processes. For over six decades, the company has remained at the forefront of market trends, staying aligned with the evolving automotive industry’s needs.
“The history of Dürr Brasil continues” with a steadfast commitment to technical advancement and a focus on the future of mobility in Brazil.
