The job market is changing and finding qualified skilled workers is becoming increasingly difficult. That’s why Dürr and BBS Automation are relying on initiative rather than luck. Instead of waiting around, they are investing intentionally in promoting their own young talent.
At the new training center, knowledge is taught directly through real-world applications.
At their site in Freiberg, the two companies have created a joint training center that gives young people the best possible start to their careers – with modern equipment, practical learning content, and an environment in which they can try things out and develop their skills.
At the same time, they are laying the foundation for securing a stable pipeline of qualified skilled workers in the long term.
Covering around 1,000 square meters, the new training center combines knowledge and high-tech in one place. State-of-the-art machines, digital tools, and even 3D printing ensure that training is not just theoretical but is also put into practice. The planning was carried out jointly with trainers and trainees. The result is a concept that focuses on the needs of the younger generation. This is precisely how the Dürr Group makes it clear: “We need you and we are investing in you!”
Young professionals work on a technical assembly and apply their knowledge directly in the training center.
The wide range of development opportunities makes the new training center particularly attractive.
Currently, 127 young professionals are taking advantage of a diverse range of training and study programs. A total of nine different apprenticeships are available, ranging from IT and technical jobs to logistics. Those who opt for a dual study program can choose from twelve exciting courses, including automation technology, mechanical engineering, and industrial engineering. Dürr and BBS Automation are currently supporting 74 apprentices and 53 dual students.
Dürr Systems and BBS Automation inaugurate joint training center.
The young professionals gain experience in two different companies. At BBS Automation, the focus is on special machine construction, while at Dürr it is on the series production of painting robots. This gives them comprehensive insight into different technologies and industries. For young people, this means training with real career prospects, and for the companies, it means a strong foundation for sustainable success.
