Carbon neutral body drying with the Ecopaint oven product family

 

The energy transition holds many new challenges, including rising energy costs: Dürr has developed advanced solutions for cutting both energy costs and the carbon footprint. Customers are consulted individually on the choice of the appropriate technology, depending on the form of energy used at the respective site. The Ecopaint oven product family is a showcase example of innovative and sustainable technology made by Dürr. The electric variants of EcoInCure and EcoSmartCure offer a high degree of flexibility in terms of layout design, and guarantee maximum spatial efficiency. 

Dürr is the only manufacturer to offer a package concept of electrically heated oven and electric exhaust air aftertreatment, using the Oxi.X RV air pollution control system based on the principle of regenerative thermal oxidation (RTO). In case of electric heating, this allows the decoupling of heating and air pollution control. Highly efficient heat recovery means the energy in the exhaust air flow can be used almost completely for heating fresh air.

    Of all the processes involved in automobile manufacturing, the paint shops consume the most energy, because applying paint and drying the bodies is extremely energy-intensive.
