SURCAR is a renowned international platform that brings together companies and experts from the automotive paint and surface treatment industries. The award highlights our commitment to advancing technology in the automotive sector. With the EcoNextJet, precise and detailed graphics can be applied directly to the car body—opening up new possibilities for design, personalization, and more efficient manufacturing processes.
In the same month, we also received an award in the “Innovation Process” category from the French magazine L'Usine Nouvelle. Together with the Renault Group and BASF Coatings, we were honored for our innovative OFLA (overspray-free application) process.
The project was implemented at Renault’s Maubeuge plant features a two-color paint shop equipped with our overspray-free technology. This method saves paint, eliminates the need for plastic films, and reduces the number of curing steps. It offers significant environmental benefits: less energy consumption, reduced CO₂ emissions, and less waste.
Our Our EcoPaintJet Pro ensures fully automated painting with nearly 100% paint utilization. It can be seamlessly integrated into automated production processes, ensuring greater efficiency and sustainability. PaintJet Pro ensures fully automated painting with nearly 100% paint utilization. Dürr also received two awards at SURCAR in Cannes. We shared first prize with BASF and Renault in the “Technical Solution” category for our overspray-free, two-color roof coating solution for the Renault 4L and Dacia Bigster. In addition, the presentation “High-Resolution Graphics in Car Body Painting” by Hans-Georg Fritz, in collaboration with Axalta, was voted as the audience favorite. Why? Because the presentation was extraordinary. Before the presentation, Tim Hayes, President of SURCAR, signed his name. We sent this signature file to our test paint booth at the Dürr plant in Bietigheim. During the presentation, our team used EcoNextJet technology to apply the signature to a car body. At the end, a video showed the robot precisely painting the detailed signature onto a car door.
